Connect your work apps to Gemini: a small test first

Google's September update adds Connected Apps to Gemini. Here is a simple way to test one app, what to check, and where the official details come from.

Connect your work apps to Gemini: a small test first

Google's October 2 roundup of AI updates from September includes a feature many people will try first: Connected Apps in Gemini. Google says the update brings more apps directly into Gemini, including productivity tools such as Airtable, Linear, monday.com and PandaDoc, plus creative and lifestyle services. The goal is to finish tasks in one place instead of switching between tabs.

To start, open your Gemini settings and select the apps you want to link. The roundup does not list availability by region or plan, so check your own settings before you plan a workflow around a specific app.

A useful first test is a question whose answer you can already verify. For example, if you use a task tracker, ask Gemini to list your open items in one project, then compare that list with the tracker itself. Link one app at a time, so you can tell which connection produced which answer.

Before you rely on the results:

  • Read what each app asks to access before you link it.
  • Verify dates, numbers and task status in the original app.
  • Check linked-app output before you share it with other people.
